Hi!
I graduated from CSU in December 2019 with a bachelors in education. I didn’t have the traditional “College Experience” as a student. I transferred to CSU after two years at a private christian college and it took me a total of 5 1/2 years to complete my degree. Along the way, I faced many challenges and roadblocks that put me on the verge of quitting school. It can also be so hard knowing what you want to spend your life doing at 18-21 years old, I know I certainly didn’t. Sometimes, I still find myself questioning if I chose the right path. This is why I chose to be a mentor, to help people in similar situations! Let me help you on your journey to success!

Hello!
I graduated from CSU in 2020 with my B.S. in Chemistry and earned my PhD in Chemistry from Emory University in 2024. I am now back at CSU happy to be teaching chemistry! As a first-generation college student, I was totally unsure of how to navigate college and use the resources available to me. Thankfully, one of my undergraduate professors became a life-long mentor, helping me in my academic career and beyond. They have inspired me to reciprocate that mentorship through this program. I’m looking forward to helping students feel connected with the university and confident in their ability to navigate their degree.

- Students and mentors register and complete an online survey to paint a holistic picture of their interests and experiences.
- Once you are matched with your mentee(s), you both decide how and how often you want to connect.
- An SMS text message introduces the mentor and mentee, and they can then start engaging with their counterpart.
- How will my major impact my professional options?
- How do I balance the demands of school, responsibilities, and socializing?
- How can I set myself up for academic, social, and career success?
