Youth Sports Operations Associate Intern
Type: Part-time contract, 20 hours per week with potential to grow to 30 hours as the program expands
Term: 6-month contract with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent role
Location: Northern Nassau County, NY; multi-site (reliable transportation required)
Schedule: Primarily Monday through Friday afternoons to support after-school program delivery, with 1–2 flexible mornings per week for school check-ins and coordinator meetings, occasional evenings for PTA meetings, and Saturday mornings as needed
About TGA Premier Sports
TGA of Northern Nassau County is a program that teaches children of all skill levels how to play sports, including golf, tennis, pickleball, and more. TGA brings its programs directly to schools, parks, and community centers, making sports accessible and convenient for families. The curriculum is designed to develop fundamental skills, promote sportsmanship, and ensure that children have fun while learning and playing.
TGA currently operates programs throughout Nassau County and parts of Queens, including Port Washington, Manhasset, Great Neck, Floral Park, New Hyde Park, Albertson, Bellerose, Garden City, Jericho, Hicksville, Old Westbury, Roslyn, Inwood, Freeport, Rosedale, Elmont, and Little Neck. The Associate will support operations across multiple active sites within this footprint.
Job Duties
- Support day-to-day program operations across school and park locations
- Assist with coach scheduling, substitutions, and on-site coverage
- Serve as a point of contact for school coordinators and parents during programs
- Represent TGA at school events, PTA meetings, and community outreach activities
- Assist with enrollment tracking, attendance records, and session reporting
- Support equipment inventory, setup, and breakdown at program sites
- Help onboard and orient new coaches on the curriculum and safety standards
- Assist with social media content capture, photos, highlights, and program moments
- Support seasonal program planning for Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer cycles
- Identify opportunities to engage new schools, parks, or community partners
- Assist with parent communications and program updates
- Ensure safety protocols and supervision ratios are maintained at all times
Key Requirements
- Currently completing junior or senior year or recently graduated in a related field
- Must be a natural athlete with working knowledge of at least one of the three TGA sports: tennis, pickleball, and golf
- Reliable personal transportation required role covers multiple Nassau County sites
- Available Monday through Friday afternoons, select mornings, occasional evenings, and Saturday mornings
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
- Comfortable working with children and school administrators
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple sites and priorities independently
- Genuine passion for youth development and sports
