Flight & Aerospace Academy is launching a new CAD and 3D printing program for middle and high school students in Jersey City. We need someone to fill the seats.
This is not a typical internship where you shadow someone and take notes. You will be the person responsible for getting students in the door. You will create content, post in communities, reach out to schools, DM potential students, and track every lead. If you are the kind of person who figures things out without being told how, this role is for you.
We are looking for a natural hustler who happens to be good at social media. Someone who can talk to a high school student and make them want to try this program, and then follow up until they book a trial class.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Create short-form video content (Reels, TikTok, Stories) showing 3D prints, the workspace, and student projects. You shoot it, edit it, post it.
- Post in local communities: Facebook groups (JC Parents, Bayonne community, homeschool groups), Reddit, Discord servers, anywhere high schoolers and their parents are.
- Reach out to local high schools: Dickinson, Ferris, Lincoln, Bayonne High, McNair Academic, County Prep. Email guidance counselors, drop off flyers, connect with STEM club advisors.
- Direct outreach: DM students who are into engineering, 3D printing, gaming, robotics. Comment on relevant posts. Build awareness one conversation at a time.
- Track everything: Every lead, every conversation, every trial booking. You will own a simple CRM and report weekly on what is working and what is not.
- Think like a founder: If something is not working, change it. If you see an opportunity we have not thought of, go after it. We do not have a playbook. You are writing it.
WHO YOU ARE
- A college student (or recent grad) in the Jersey City / Bayonne / Hoboken / Hudson County area.
- You went to a local high school or know the local high school landscape well enough to navigate it.
- You are comfortable talking to strangers, whether that is a 15-year-old student or a school guidance counselor.
- You can make a decent Instagram Reel or TikTok without needing a tutorial.
- You are resourceful. If you do not know how to do something, you figure it out.
- You have a bias toward action. You would rather try something and learn from it than wait for permission.
- You are organized enough to track leads and follow up without things falling through the cracks.
THE DETAILS
Hours: 5-10 hours/week, flexible schedule
Pay: Based on experience. Bonuses based on performance.
Location: 118 Ferry Street, Jersey City, NJ (some remote work, but you need to be local)
Start: Immediately
