Summer Co-teachers and Interns:
Sisters Academy of Baltimore is seeking summer co-teachers and interns for a three week period from June 22, 2026– July 14, 2026. An orientation date and grading day may be required outside of these dates. Ideal candidates should have the following qualifications:
· College level coursework or degree and previous experience in an educational setting
· Experience/expertise in areas such as science, math, visual or performing arts, language arts, computer programming, technology, engineering or more.
· Ability to relate to adolescent girls
· Teaching and behavior management skills
· Ability to work collaboratively and as a member of a school community
· Strong communication skills
· Characteristics of composure, approachability, humor, adaptability, ethics, and integrity
Job Responsibilities:
The Sisters Academy Summer Program seeks to hire interns to co-teach summer enrichment classes in English Language Arts, STEM, teambuilding, and visual and performing arts that will challenge our middle schools academically, physically, and artistically. We seek enthusiastic individuals with experience working with middle school youth who are able to co-lead activities planned for the day, lead small group activities as assigned, and collaborate with all summer program staff to create a hands-on, interactive, summer learning opportunity for the students. Co-teachers and interns will be expected to arrive promptly and be prepared for classes, actively supervise students, and support a number of varied responsibilities related to each course or program.
About Sisters Academy of Baltimore
Sisters Academy of Baltimore, a middle school for girls in grades 5 – 8 is characterized by quality education, a faith-based approach, holistic education, small classes, extended school day, summer sessions, parental involvement, and graduate support. Sisters Academy is small by design and has an enrollment of 64 students in 2025-2026. Approximately 80% of the students are African-American and 20% are Hispanic. All students are on scholarships and families pay a minimal fee.
