About Intellilake

Intellilake is a data platform built for financial asset managers. We unify data from many systems into a single, reconciled, reportable view, with a flexible “Elastic Hierarchy” that adapts to each client’s business. We’re a small, senior team with a real product in production and real customers using it daily. Company address is 74 Weir Ln, Locust Valley, NY 11560. See our LinkedIn profile https://www.linkedin.com/company/intellilake/

Our website is currently under construction.

About the Program

Over 8 weeks, you’ll learn what real engineering work looks like, what working at a real company looks like, and what working at Intellilake specifically looks like. You’ll ship real, supervised tactical work; collaborate near-daily with our VP of Engineering, CTO (founding partner), and the full development team; and finish with a capstone project you own. Where there’s strong mutual fit, the program can lead to a full-time offer (graduating candidates) or a return offer (non-final-year candidates) — but offers are an outcome of a good 8 weeks, not the program’s purpose.

What You’ll Do

– Pair, code-review, and ship alongside the full development team from Week 2 onward
– Take on 4–8 small, bounded tactical tasks pulled from our real product backlog (Weeks 3–5)
– Design and deliver a capstone project in your track (Weeks 6–7)
– Present your capstone to the full team and founders in Week 8
– Submit a weekly written reflection on what you shipped, learned, and want to grow into
– Have weekly 1:1s with your discipline lead and daily check-ins with senior engineering leadership

Skills We’re Looking For

**All tracks (general):**
– Comfortable in Git, GitHub, and a modern code review workflow
– Can read and reason about code you didn’t write
– Curious about the *why* behind a feature, not just the *how*
– Communicates clearly in writing and in standups; asks good questions early

**Front-End Engineering:** Working knowledge of TypeScript, React, and modern CSS (Tailwind a plus). Familiarity with component libraries (ShadCN/Radix) is a bonus.

**AI/ML Engineering:** Solid Python. Exposure to LLM-based applications, agentic frameworks (LangGraph or similar), or production ML pipelines. Understanding of evaluation and reliability for LLM systems is a strong plus.

**Data Engineering:** Solid SQL. Exposure to DBT, Python, or modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Postgres). Curiosity about data quality and lineage.

Minimum Requirements

– Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
– Available for the full 8-week program
– At least one prior coursework or personal project demonstrating relevant technical skills (GitHub link encouraged)
– Open to **both** final-year/graduating candidates and non-final-year candidates (rising juniors/seniors and co-op students welcome)

What You Get

– Paid, structured 8-week experience with real ownership of real work
– Near-daily access to senior engineering leadership and a founding partner
– Written, specific feedback on your growth — every intern, regardless of follow-up
– A potential full-time offer or return offer where there’s strong mutual fit
– An open door and willingness to serve as a reference, regardless of outcome
