Enriquez MSP is seeking a highly motivated and independent Technical Intern (Level II) to serve as a reliable, on-site presence for our clients. This role is crucial for executing critical hands-on tasks and resolving time-sensitive issues when our lead engineers are unavailable. This position is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic Managed Service Provider environment, working directly with high-profile business owners and their technology infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • On-Site Troubleshooting: Perform hands-on technical troubleshooting for workstations and peripherals to address immediate issues and maintain system stability.
  • Workstation Setup & Deployment: Assist with the setup of new workstations and peripherals, including multi-monitor configurations, hardware upgrades (e.g., HDD to SSD swaps), and deployment of specialized software.
  • Printer & Peripheral Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve common printer and scanner issues, including configuration, driver updates, and unit replacement.
  • Physical Maintenance & Execution: Execute maintenance plans, including physical cabling audits, power source checks, and other hands-on tasks as directed by the primary engineers.
  • System Maintenance Support: Provide assistance in the execution of system maintenance, such as driver overhauls, firmware updates, and preparation for OS upgrades (e.g., Windows 11 rollout).

Required Qualifications & Logistics

  • Transportation: Must possess reliable personal transportation (a car) and be prepared to travel to various client sites across the service area.
  • Compensation: Pay is strictly hourly and applies only to the time spent on-site at a client location performing work. Time spent driving to or from a client site is not billable work time.
  • Reimbursement: Gas mileage incurred for travel between client sites will be reimbursed.
  • Availability: We offer a flexible schedule designed to work around university course loads. Candidates should have consistent blocks of availability during standard business hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) to align with client needs.

Paid Time Off: In accordance with the Chicago Paid Leave and Paid Sick and Safe Leave Ordinance:

  • Accrual: You will accrue 1 hour of Paid Leave and 1 hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 35 hours worked.
  • Usage: Paid Sick Leave may be used starting on the 30th day of employment. Paid Leave (for any reason) may be used starting on the 90th day of employment.
  • Increments: Paid Leave must be used in minimum 4-hour increments; Sick Leave in 2-hour increments.
  • Separation: As a small employer, unused leave balances are not paid out upon completion of the internship.
