Political Outreach Fellow – Carleigh Beriont for Congress (NH-01)

Carleigh Beriont for Congress is hiring a Summer Political Outreach Fellow for the 2026 cycle in New Hampshire’s First District.

Carleigh is a teacher, union organizer, mom of two, and Chair of the Hampton Select Board. She helped lead the campaign that unionized Harvard’s graduate student workers, winning higher wages, childcare subsidies, and anti-retaliation protections for thousands. She holds a PhD from Harvard and teaches government and U.S. history at the Kennedy School. She’s running a grassroots campaign with no AIPAC money, no corporate PAC money, and no social media presence, putting every dollar into organizing across NH-01. Carleigh is fighting for affordable housing, Medicare for All, a livable climate, gun safety reform, and an end to Congressional stock trading.

Summer fellows will be a core part of a small, fast-moving campaign team, reporting to senior campaign staff and working closely with Carleigh.

This full-time, in-person role is based in New Hampshire’s First Congressional District.

Role Overview

The Political Outreach fellow will support Carleigh’s direct outreach to political stakeholders across the district and beyond: labor organizations, members of Congress, local elected officials, and statewide and national organizations. The role is built around the research, writing, and tracking that make Carleigh’s meetings productive.

Core Responsibilities

  • Research labor organizations, members of Congress, local elected officials, and statewide and national organizations ahead of Carleigh’s meetings
  • Produce briefing materials covering each stakeholder, their leadership, their priorities, and any relevant history with the campaign
  • Track outreach activity, meeting outcomes, and follow-up commitments in the campaign’s outreach system
  • Draft outreach correspondence, including introduction emails, scheduling requests, follow-up notes, and thank-yous
  • Maintain a working stakeholder universe across the district and key federal contacts
  • Support Carleigh’s preparation for forums, panels, and stakeholder events

What You’ll Gain

  • Direct exposure to how political relationship-building and stakeholder outreach work in a competitive primary
  • Practice writing the briefings, follow-ups, and outreach correspondence that drive a candidate’s external relationships
  • A working knowledge of NH and federal Democratic political networks

A Strong Candidate Will Be

  • A fast writer with strong political instincts
  • Detail-oriented and accurate in research
  • Discreet with sensitive political information
  • Comfortable researching unfamiliar people and organizations quickly

Preferred (But Not Required)

  • Prior campaign, political, advocacy, or policy experience
  • Familiarity with NH and federal stakeholders

Logistics

  • Schedule: 10-20 hours/week, schedule flexible with the opportunity to attend and staff campaign events on nights and weekends
  • Compensation: A stipend of $500 per month is available. The campaign is also happy to coordinate with universities to facilitate course credit.
  • Start date: Immediate, rolling review
  • End date: End of summer, with the possibility of extension through November 2026 contingent on the primary outcome
